Benefits of Membership
Your first point of contact should be with your Branch and details can be obtained from National Office. If there is not an active Branch in your area then you will be given details of your local Unite office. These details are also available on the home page of this website.
Members’ services
As part of Unite the union, members can access to the very best services. These range from support and advice to financial assistance, both at work and at home, all for a minimal monthly subscription. Members get unrivalled assistance from their union with a comprehensive package of benefits and services available, with support at work as well as special deals to let members make the most of their income.
Support at work
CYWU represents workers` rights throughout the UK and Ireland. Members benefit from legal representation and advice, research, journals and information, education services, and a dedicated health and safety team.
Legal and financial support
Members of Unite are entitled to free legal advice. Representation services cover a range of issues, both inside and outside the workplace. We can help with personal injury claims, employment matters, wills, conveyancing and many other legal issues. As a union member, you can obtain free initial advice on any non-work-related legal matter by telephoning our 24-hour helpline on 0800 709 007. Our network of advisers offer confidential advice on criminal law, family law, consumer law, property and land law, wills and trusts, nuisance and trespass and a host of other legal issues. Please have your membership number ready to quote when you call.
Facilities
The T&G has superb facilities in London and on Britain’s sunny south coast, in Eastbourne, suitable for conferences, seminars and holidays. Union members convalescing after illness can also enjoy the recuperative amenities at its Eastbourne Centre.
Eastbourne Centre
The Eastbourne Centre offers premium holiday accommodation to union members looking for reduced rate holidays and short breaks. Convalescent patients can enjoy up to two weeks’ free accommodation, subject to conditions. In addition, it boasts professional, state-of-the-art conferencing and seminar facilities. A conference hall seating up to 150 delegates and four seminar rooms are available.
London and Surrey
The Union has excellent conference facilities in its state-of-the-art Diskus suite, which is centrally located within Transport House in Holborn. Further excellant conference and meeting facilities are available at Esher Place in Surrey. Union members can also benefit from discounts at a central London hotel.
